Dr.B.K.Sinha

Director / Scientist-In-Charge

Dr. Sinha has his specialisation in machine dynamics with emphasis on fault diagnosis of plant equipment. He has carried out studies extensively on service reliability and damage mechanisms. He has been rendering useful services to various sector, such as thermal power plants, fertilizers, paper and pulp, petrochemical industries, coal-mining, steel units and also for general engineering organizations.

Dr. Sinha had been awarded the German Academic Exchange Services (DAAD) Scholarship in recognition of his cintributons to his field. He has received an award from 5he the Indian Institute of Metals, Durgapur Chapter in recognisition of his contribution to Residual Life Assessment of Equipment by Satistical Approach. He has already published about 75 papers in journals of repute, both national and international. He has Indian Patent on "Machine Mounting System" to his credit. He received BEST CITIZEN OF INDIA award of 1999 from International Publishing House and received citation also for his contribution in Mechanical Engineering. He is a member of various National Committee on Condition based maintenance and safety review and has served as adjusdicator for doctoral theses as well as guided a number of Ph.D. students.

Dr.Sinha has been trained in Quantitative Risk assessment by faculty from the University of manchester Institute of Science and Technology and has been assssociated with safety reviews. particularly for the preparation of Off-site Emergency Plan. Dr. Sinha is the senior most Scientist in Director Grade and is Scientist-In-Charge of MERADO, since 1996. he has taken the charge of Director, CMERI from June, 2000.

Dr.A.K.Dey

Scientist

Dr.A.K.Dey has obtained Ph.D. (Mech.Engg.) with specialisation in designing of Process Plant and Post Harvest Equipments. He also have expertise in crude oil/viscous petroleum product transportation. He received "Sir Ganga Ram Memorial Award" from Institute Of Engineers (I). He has already published about 20 papers in journals of repute, both national and international. He has two Indian Patents to his credit. He has also guided a number of ME students and is also external examiner of Pune University.

S.S.Ali

Scientist

Mr.S.S.Ali has obtained his degree in Science and Metallurgy (A.M.I.I.M.), with specialisation in Quality Assurance of Engg. Component and Failure Investigation by NDT Techniques and Metallurgy. He is associated in organising Technique Programmes in the field of Non-Destructive Testing for the last 25 years. Mr. Ali had carried out work in the field of Quality Assurance of Engg. Comp. at B.A.M. Berlin (Germany) under exchange of Scientist Programme (DAAD). He has published ten technical papers and presented at National Seminers. He was awarded "SHRAM VIR NATIONAL AWARD" for his contribution in the development work of NDT field. He is a member of NDT Sectional Committees MTD21 & MTD 21.2 of Bureau of Indian Standard. At present he is Chairman of Indian Society for Non-Destructive Testing, Pune Chapter.

Vijay Kalia

Scientist

Mr.Vijay Kalia has obtained his degree of M.S.Engg.(Mech.) from the Technical University of Prague, Czechoslovakia, with specialisation in Process Engineering which led to the development of Whiriling Trays for pressure absorption columns. He has been associated with Technology Transfer and design development during his seven years association with NRDC of India. While working with CMERI/MERADO for the last eighteen years, apart from his association with Industrial Liaison and Business Development as Head of Division, he has been actively associated with design and development of various special purpose machines. He has contributed a number of technical papers. He is actively associated with translating the Czechoslavak technical literature to English for industrial and scientific use by R&D establishments. He has a keen interest in Hazard Evaluation and Risk Management of Chemical Process Plants.

Dr.R.K.Varma

Scientist

Dr. R.K.Varma obtained his Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He also obtained M.Sc. degree in Agricultural engineering from University of Guelph, Canada under commonwealth fellowship. He is specialised in design and development of Agricultural Machinery including post-harvest technology. He has been on deputation to ICAR as a project co-ordinator for about four years. He has about 33 years experience at CMERI, Durgapur and CIAE, Bhopal for design and development of Agricultural Machinery including design of tractors and power tillers and their matching equipment. Dr. Varma has already published about 14 papers in Indian journals and several technical reports. He has two Indian Patents to his credit. He has keen interest in design and development of Agricultural Machinery and Post-Harvest Technology for farm mechanisation.

R. Madhavan

Scientist

Mr. R.Madhavan has been associated with specialisation in designing of Special Purpose Machines like chemical, general purpose machineries and defence equipments.

V.K.Shah

Scientist

Mr.V.K.Shah has obtained Masters degree in Metallurgy viz.M.E.(Metallurgy) from Govt. college of Engineering Pune in 1978. He has specialisation in Failure investigation and Quality Evaluation work by different N. D.T. techniques and Metallurgy. He is associated in Training of N.D.T. personnels in Radoiography and Ultrasonics etc. He is committee member of ISNDT,Pune chapter. At present,he is engaged in the Business Developement Group.

Imranur Rahman

Scientist

Mr.Imranur Rahman obtained his graduate and post-graduate degrees in Chemical Engg. from Nagpur University. He has more than twelve years experience in different fields of Enviornmental Engineering. He is a Life Member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Institute of Engineers (I), Indian Association for Enviornmental Engineering Research Institute. He worked on solid waste management and was associated with several Environmental Impact Assessment projects. He has been associated with the erection and commissioning of Reverse Osmosis plants for desalination of brackish water. He was also associated with Enviornmental Risk Assessment and Management Plan, Durgapur & Asansol sub-division. He has completed four studies on Risk Analysis and on-site emergency plan for bulk petroleum depots and LPG bottling plants. At present he is engaged in Risk Analysis of Bulk Petroleum depots.

Kamalkishore J. Uke

Scientist

Mr. K.J.Uke is a Mechanical Engineer. He has also completed MBA degree with specialisation in Finance Management (1999). He has worked as Project Engineer in Gharda Chemicals Lt. He has also worked as Lecturer in Govt. Polytecnic, Jalgaon. At present he is working in Design Engg. Dept. in Merado, Pune. He has woked in different important projects like Sunflower Decorticator, Groundnut Decorticator, Clay Crushing machine, Cotton Seed Linting Plant & DRDO projects.
